Windows 10 embodies what our customers (both consumers and enterprises) demand and what we will deliver. Windows 10 will run across an incredibly broad set of devices – from the Internet of Things, to servers in enterprise datacenters worldwide. Some of these devices have 4 inch screens – some have 80 inch screens – and some don’t have screens at all. Some of these devices you hold in your hand, others are ten feet awa...

iOS Vs Android 4.4 Kitkat

Image
iOS 8 vs Android 4.4 KitKat Apple has finally unveiled its latest OS upgrade, but how does it compare to Android's latest offering, KitKat? iOS 8 vs KitKat: Design iOS 8 has changed little from the overhaul of iOS 7, and now many of its design cues are being used to shape the new OS X Yosemite upgrade for Mac, but it's not all one-way traffic. Extra sidebars provide added information when searching maps and contacts, and the notification centre, still accessed by dragging down from the top of the screen, will made it easier to respond to notifications by allowing you to swipe on the banner notification and type out your reply without leaving the app you're working in. Over on KitKat, fonts have been made lighter and thinner, with bold numbers and letters reduced across the phone's apps and programmes, but the OS is starting to lag behind in terms of design. iOS's beautiful transparencies give it the edge, and we're lookin...

Smartphone photography to diagnose eye diseases

Image
Researchers find that eye diseases can be studied and easily detected through means of photos taken by smartphones. Eyephone! A simple and inexpensive technique that uses smartphone photography can help diagnose eye diseases, scientists say. Retinal (or fundus) photography is an essential part of any ophthalmology practice. Commercial fundus cameras can cost tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars, making the technology out of reach for smaller ophthalmic practices and to physicians in third-world countries. In a recent study, researchers at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary described the relatively simple technique of fundus photography in human and rabbit eyes using a smartphone, an inexpensive app for the smartphone, and instruments that are readily available. Smartphones are now being used more routinely in ophthalmology to document patients' ocular conditions, researchers said. "Our technique provides a simpler and higher quality meth...

Eye Tribe

Image
Eye Tribe Eye tracking has been actively discussed by technology enthusiasts throughout these years, but it’s really challenging to implement. But Eye Tribe actually did this. They successfully created the technology to allow you to control your tablet, play flight simulator, and even slice fruits in Fruit Ninja only with your eye movements.  It’s basically taking the common eye-tracking technology and combining it with a front-facing camera plus some serious computer-vision algorithm, and voila, fruit slicing done with the eyes! A live demo was done in LeWeb this year and we may actually be able to see it in in action in mobile devices in 2013. Currently the company is still seeking partnership to bring this sci-fi tech into the consumer market but you and I know that this product is simply too awesome to fail.

Future computers

The Future of Computers   The Future of Computers: From Tubes to Tablets Recent innovations such as the iPad provide an exciting glimpse into the future of computers. Before looking forward toward future computer trends, let's take a quick look back to gain a better appreciation of the evolution thus far. Do you remember when the first primitive computing machines occupied entire buildings? The massive machines from the mid-20th century consisted of row upon row of vacuum tubes and wires. You had to use stacks of punch cards to program these beasts. The Future of Computers: Home Computers Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were both instrumental in bringing the computer down to size. With the introduction of the personal computer and its widespread acceptance, computers shrunk while processing power increased. Even the bulky CRT monitors got a makeover with flat LCD monitors now the norm. In addition, costs have fallen so much over the years that many households ow...

360 Degree - Screen Smartphone

Image
Smartphone with 360 Degree Screen One of the key weaknesses of modern smartphones is the small technical limitation , the manufacturers can not get rid of the frame on either side of the screen. Every year it is getting thinner, but the displays are still not learned, how to bend the edges. How will the smart phones, when this little thing becomes available? The answer to this question is. Designer introduced the concept of a smartphone screen which goes around the body at 360 degrees. Moreover, the author insists on his autostereoscopic properties, that is, the ability to display three-dimensional image without glasses. And,as the software platform, was chosen Windows Phone , the brightest and most aesthetic of all.     The full 360 -degree display is also transparent , so the " live tiles " Metro UI scrolled on the perimeter. It is a new word in the language of a user space. This idea will certainly take advantage of developers and other popul...
