Apple OS X Yosemite

The file was found in the OS X Yosemite developers preview that was released earlier this week. It contains references to a maximum scaling resolution of 6,400 x 3,600 – which would work out as a Retina resolution of 3,200 x 1,800 pixels. That’s more than double the resolution of the 27-inch iMac. That doesn’t mean Apple is likely to launch an iMac larger than 27-inches. The Retina MacBook Pro has a native resolution of 2,880 x 1,800, which gives it the ability to power the 1,440 x 900 pixel screen. However, the MacBook Pro is capable of generating a 3,840 x 2,400 pixel desktop, which is then scaled down. It’s highly likely that the new iMac model will do the same. Apple has been rumoured to be working on Retina iMac models since it debuted the first Retina MacBook Pro in 2012. Last week, details of three new iMac models emerged.
